The regional Flood Warning System (FWS) measures rainfall and monitors water levels in bayous, creeks, and rivers on a real-time basis to inform area residents of potential flooding conditions. This system relies on a network of gage stations that have been strategically placed throughout Harris and surrounding counties.
Alert notifications are available at over 250 locations across the region. Sign up for default alerts or create custom alerts to receive real-time rainfall and stream level alerts by email and/or text message.
The Norchester Subdivision is serviced by Cypress Creek Utility District (CCUD) for our water and sewage. The CCUD also administers the contract for our trash pickup. Their website has a lot of interesting information about the Municipal Utility District (MUD), including the management and the MUD's service providers. Four of the Board members are residents of Norchester, and Norchester is the largest part of CCUD.
CYPRESS CREEK UTILITY DISTRICT NOTIFICATIONS VIA EMAIL AND TEXT NOW AVAILABLE
If you would like to sign up to receive important news and updates from the Cypress Creek Utility District via text messages and/or

FLY A FLAG ON SPECIAL OCCASSIONS
Some may have noticed their Norchester neighbors with flags out around certain occasions. You can do it yourself - or through a program that benefits the Cypress Creek High School. The ‘Flags With Pride’ is a fund raising project of the Cypress Creek Athletic Booster Club. The flags are put out for a week for the following commemorative events:
• VETERAN’S DAY
• PRESIDENTS’ DAY
• MEMORIAL DAY
• INDEPENDENCE DAY
• LABOR DAY
• PATRIOT DAY
The Booster Club provides the flags in their program. They are placed in your yard at the beginning of the appropriate period, and then picked up at the end. The flags are kept offsite when not on display.
This is done on a yearly subscription basis. The cost is $41 per year. For more complete information, and payment details, go to https://cycreekabc.com/flag-fundraiser and click on the link to sign up online .
